During surgery hours: If your pet has a problem during surgery hours, please telephone the practice immediately and we will ensure that you are offered an appointment on a priority basis. Please make it clear that the matter is not routine and we will do our utmost to attend to you at the earliest opportunity.
Evenings and weekends: Unlike many veterinary practices in the Aberdeen area our vets share the on call emergency service between them. We provide an emergency service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Hopefully in this difficult time you will find it helpful to see a familiar face. We also have full access to all your pets’ veterinary records. If you find you have to call the out of hours vet please follow our guidance for emergency arrangements during evenings and week-ends by calling our practice and follow our answerphone instructions (where applicable). Your call will be dealt with by a dedicated veterinary answering service. You will be asked your name, telephone number and the reason for your call. This information will then be passed to our on call vet who will phone you back as soon as possible. If your call is the middle of the night please be aware that the vet is not at the surgery premises but will arrange to meet you there. Please do not just turn up at the practice as it will be closed.
If we need to hospitalise your pet, we will make their stay with us as comfortable as possible. Our vets do not live on site and the level of care will depend on your pet’s needs. If your pet is critically ill the on call vet or nurse will make regular visits to ensure they are medicated and as comfortable as possible.
